Literacy Leaders: U.S. Dept. of Education TEACH Town Hall Meeting

January 31, 2011

CDFF Founder Chris Draft joined U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and film director, writer, producer and actor Spike Lee at the U.S. Department of Education's TEACH Town Hall meeting at Moorehouse University, to encourage students to enter the teaching profession. The town hall meeting will focus on recruitment of African American male teachers, as less than two percent of American teachers fall in that category. The Department of Education has set a goal of recruiting 80,000 African American male teachers by 2015.
