The Palmetto Health Cancer Center

Palmetto Health is the region's largest, most comprehensive, locally owned, not-for-profit health care resource. It leads the region in the number and volume of inpatient and outpatient services provided because of the depth and breadth of available services including general, acute and critical care; the number and diversity of specialty physicians providing the full array of treatment from primary to emergency care and beyond; care that is delivered with compassion by a staff that records high levels of satisfaction in their work and achieves the highest level of patient satisfaction in the nation; and because of its emphasis on leadership development, patient safety and quality outcomes. All patients are provided needed care regardless of ability to pay.

Palmetto’s Thoracic Cancer Conference meets twice a month to evaluate new cases, including all lung cancers. Physicians present patients who have suspicious lung nodules or masses to discuss the best way to diagnose the problem. Together the following team of specialists decides on the best diagnostic approach and treatment.

Team Draft, an initiative of the CDFF launched by Draft and his late wife Keasha during Keasha’s year-long battle with Stage IV Lung Cancer, is leading a national campaign to change the face of lung cancer by shattering the misconception that lung cancer is a “smoker’s disease.”
