From Thursday, November 8 through Monday, November 12, 2012, in honor of Veterans Day weekend,

Lung Cancer Alliance, Vietnam Veterans of America and Team Draft will join with select screening

excellence around the country in welcoming Veterans to call in or come in for a lung cancer risk

assessment and if needed, the scheduling of a chest CT scan—the first step in the screening process that

can save their lives.

On Thursday, November 8th through Monday, November 12th select screening centers that follow the

National Framework for Screening Excellence across the country will invite Veterans at high risk for lung

cancer, especially our Vietnam Veterans to complete a risk assessment and learn about the risks and

benefits of screening. Centers will promote this day throughout their communities and will work with

the local chapter of the VVA to encourage Veteran participation.
