ESPN Radio, NFLPA Join Draft Day

The Chris Draft Family Foundation will have many special ambassadors on hand at the Draft Family Fitness Day event Saturday, May 9, at the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club in St. Louis. Along with the ambassadors, there will be some other special guests on hand to capture the action, including the NFL Players Association and the new 101.1 ESPN Radio.

101.1 ESPN is the new FM sports-talk radio station featuring some of the most popular sports journalists in St. Louis. One of them, Rene Knott of Newschannel Five, will be broadcasting his show, “314 Sports” from 10:00 a.m. – Noon along with broadcasting partners Larry Thornton and Anthony Atencio.

“At Bonneville we strongly believe in making a difference in our local community, and to be involved with “The Chris Draft Family Foundation” and help provide the tools and information necessary to people to help them make choices to live healthier lifestyles is something we’re very proud to be a part of,” said Jason Barrett, Program Director for 101.1 ESPN. “Since his arrival in St. Louis, Chris has done an amazing job in trying to improve the lives of many people in our community and we’re thrilled to team up with him and play a role in trying to provide families with knowledge about physical fitness, nutrition and health maintenance."

Draft Day® will also see a film crew from the NFL Players Association, capturing all the day’s action for their website, nflplayers.org. Draft has partnered with the NFLPA on several initiatives in the past and received a J.B. Award for Community Service from the organization in April.

“NFL PLAYERS is proud to honor players like Chris Draft who dedicate themselves so fully to their teams and communities,” said Andrew Feffer, COO/EVP of NFL PLAYERS. “Chris is both a leader in the locker room and a role model for our youth. He teaches others by living as an example, constantly donating his time, energy and resources to improving the lives of those around him.”
