Karen B. - "The Blind Side" Los Angeles

I didn't expect this movie to have any impact on me. I thought it was just going to be a nice movie. However, I was wrong. The movie impacted me in many different ways. it inspired me, made me want to do something and made me change my views of the world.

Throughout the movie, all I kept thinking was 'this is just another typical story about how someone from the hood is going to succeed and life is going to change, and he's going to become famous in sports or some other popular career.' In a way, this is kind of true. I'm not going to lie and say this isn't the storyline. However, it was different. The things that Michael had to go through were much more severe and cruel than I expected. Michael actually inspired me to try my best, try harder in school and not give up on life. I was on the verge of giving up, but when I saw the things that Michael had to go through, my things are nothing compared to his life. Therefore, I know that if he can succeed, so can I. He didn't have anyone there for him, until Mrs. Leigh Anne Tuohy came along, but I do. Not only do I have my parents' support, I also have my friends and teachers and mostly everyone that has been in my life.

What Mrs. Tuohy did inspired me to help people in need and not judge them by the way they look. If I had been in Mrs. Tuohy's place, I'm going to be honest, I would not have helped Michael, so it shows that her heart is in the right place. She made me change my mind about the way I look at people, because now I see that some people want to be successful in life, and they're not just drug-addict lowlifes. Life can be cruel, and life isn't fair. However, if you actually want to succeed, you'll work and struggle against what's holidng you back. Who knows, you might be lucky like Michael and have a Mrs. Tuohy of your own.
