Mane Facts:

• Trained and competed as a “push” athlete for the U.S. Bobsled Team during his two years of active service in the U.S. Army. In April 2009, he won a silver medal in the four-man bobsled and a bronze medal in the two-man bobsled competitions during the 2009 America’s Cup.
• His older brother, Jacob, is a former professional bull rider.
• His younger brother, Jeremy, has a prosthetic leg, and played quarterback on his high school football team. He is a member of the U.S. national Paralympics Track & Field team. At the 2008 Beijing Games, he was a gold medalist in the pentathlon and discus.

2010: Member of the team’s practice squad for the first 9 weeks of the season. Signed to the Lions’ active roster November 20, 2010. Released November 23 and placed on practice squad November 24. Activated for second time this season December 14.

• Played in first career game in NFL at Dallas (11/21) and registered one special teams tackle.
• Recorded team-high three special teams tackles at Tampa Bay (12/19).
• Inactive at Miami (12/26).

COLLEGE: Considered by the Army athletic department to be one of the most physically gifted players to pass through their program in recent years. He started 38-of-43 games during his career and finished with 307 tackles (197 solo), the ninth-best total in school history.

• As a senior in 2007, he played in and started all 12 games of the season. Finished second on the team on defense with 97 total tackles (68 solo), 2 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Also posted 4 pass defenses.
• Became the 22nd Army player to perform in the East-West Shrine Game.
• Was a starter as a junior is 2006 at strong safety for each of the season’s first nine games before suffering a season-ending knee injury in a road game against Tulane. Ranked third on the team in tackles with 59 (30 solo) at the time of his injury. Recorded two tackles for loss, 2 pass defenses, a forced fumble and an interception on the season.
• In 2005, he started in all 11 games and shared the team MVP honors with running back Carlton Jones. Led team with 97 tackles (63 solo) tackles averaging 8.8 tackles per game. Ranked ninth nationally in interceptions and led the team with five averaging .45 interceptions per game and 9.4 yards per interception. His interception total stands as highest by an Army player since Kenny Dale Rowland recorded 5 interceptions in 1998.
• As a freshman in 2004, he played in all 11 games and started in the last six contests picking up Freshman All-Conference USA accolades and was named to the C-USA All-Freshman Team. Ranked fifth on the team with 54 tackles and tied for second with two forced fumbles. Recorded 48 tackles over the final seven games.

PERSONAL: Attended Perryton High School and was named Amarillo Globe News A-3 Player of the Year and garnered All-State honors during his junior and senior years, picking up that honor on both offense and defense. A two-time All-Conference and All-District and earned first-team All-League honors at both quarterback and safety as a senior.

• Lettered three times in football, adding four additional varsity letters in basketball and three in track-and-field.
• Served as a football team captain as a senior, competing at quarterback and free safety.
• Listed in “Who’s Who Among American High School Students.”
• Attended the United States Military Academy Preparatory School for one year (2003) before entering West Point.
